Pikeville, KY (June 30, 2026) — Pikeville Medical Center is pleased to announce that it is the first healthcare provider in the region and only the second in Kentucky to offer innovative eCoin® therapy, a minimally invasive treatment to help patients with overactive bladder (OAB) and urge urinary incontinence.
The eCoin device is implanted during a quick, in-office procedure that typically takes thirty minutes. Once implanted, the device automatically delivers gentle electrical stimulation to the tibial nerve, helping to regulate communication between the bladder and the brain and reducing symptoms associated with OAB.
OAB affects millions of Americans and can significantly affect quality of life through frequent urination, sudden urges to urinate and accidental leakage. eCoin therapy offers a convenient alternative to more invasive procedures and ongoing treatment regimens.
