Our Patient Care Coordinators are available Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 6:30 pm. They are here to help you with a variety of questions or concerns, including but not limited to:

  • Prescriptions/medication questions
  • Test result questions
  • Referral questions
  • Future appointment questions
  • Surgical/procedure concerns

Pikeville Medical Center is committed to meeting the needs of our patients and families, including communication regarding your individual healthcare plan.  We understand that your plan of care is best addressed by your physician, nurse, or healthcare provider since they are most familiar with your health care needs. If you are concerned about the quality of care or treatment, it is best to address these concerns at the time of occurrence with the pertinent unit/ clinic management staff or the House Supervisor. File a Concern, Comment or Grievance

The administration and staff at Pikeville Medical Center are committed to providing quality health care for you and your family and will make every reasonable effort to address your concerns in a timely and appropriate manner if given the opportunity. However, you do have the right to file a complaint with the appropriate external agency regardless of whether or not you utilize the hospital grievance process. The Joint Commission

In the event that your concern involves ethical decision making, there is also mechanism in place for resolution of these issues. Complicated ethical concerns may involve issues that affect the care and treatment of patients at Pikeville Medical Center and concern those persons who are responsible for their care and treatment. Typically these issues involve quality of life, terminal illness, and/or conflicts between patients and family members. Pikeville Medical Center offers a mechanism to discuss and attempt to resolve ethical issues and provides a forum through which:

a. The rights of patients, family and health care team members are described.
b. Issues are discussed, clarified and mediated.
c. If indicated, the issue can be referred to the Ethics Committee, Executive Committee and/or Board of Trustees.
